Cineon was the first complete digital intermediate system, developed by Eastman Kodak to bridge analog film and digital post-production. While the hardware system was discontinued, its 10-bit logarithmic encoding (Cineon Log) and its successor, the Academy Density Exchange (ADX), remain industry standards for preserving film's dynamic range in digital environments.
