The Airbus Loyal Wingman (primarily developed as part of the 'Remote Carrier' pillar of the FCAS program) is an unmanned aerial system designed to operate autonomously alongside manned fighter aircraft. It is intended to perform 4D (Dull, Dirty, Dangerous, or Dear) missions, including electronic warfare, strike, and surveillance, to protect and augment manned assets. The Eurodrone, while often associated, is a separate multi-government Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance (MALE) platform currently under development by Airbus, Leonardo, and Dassault.
